Sailing, Hiking and Vistas in Virgin Gorda

After an exhilarating sail from Marina Cay in fresh northeasterly winds, Good Medicine settled in for the night at Biras Creek.  The North Sound in Virgin Gorda has so much to offer that we are always excited to be here.

Biras Creek, in the SE corner, offers a fabulous sunset view perfect for cocktails and, of course, luxurious fine dining.

 

Just to the left is the Bitter End Yacht Club (BEYC) that really seems to have it all.  The Sailing School can help you get started with their large selection of Windsurfers, Sunfish, Lasers, Hobie Cats and small sloops.  BEYC also has powered skiffs for exploring the numerous beaches and reefs of Eustatia Sound.  If that’s to high tech, they have Kayaks and Stand-Up-Paddle Boards too.

Quebec Lotto commercial filmed on Good Medicine!

You never know what to expect next in the chartering business.  Our last charter on Good Medicine was shooting a Canadian TV commercial in the BVI.  The film crew arrived on a rainy morning to check out the boat/set and get camera angles for the shoot.  The next day, we were off to a beautiful location in White Bay to meet the tech crew and prep the boat.  The director and cameramen framed shots and did a lot of planning for the following day.  There was some strange weather lurking to the east adding tension to the decision to go ahead with the shoot.  Thankfully, it slowly cleared out bringing beautiful clear skies to the islands.
